Drosera capensis and Drosera burmannii Combo Pot, live carnivorous plants, potted, WYSIWYG

$26.00

D burmannii is one of my personal favorite sundews! It is a beautifully rossetted shape with spoon shaped leaves. It is one of the most reactive sundews with snap tentacles that grasp on to its prey. The leaves are green with red hairs that hold the dew. Burmanii has very thick, sticky dew compared to D spatulata. The flower stalks are tall and thin with many white flowers. They are sequential bloomers but the flowers are short lived. The plants are quite small at approximately 2-3 cm at mature size. They require no dormancy and prefer subtropical conditions. They are excellent at catching small insects like ants, mosquitoes, and gnats. They grow well indoors in a sunny windowsill.

Drosera capensis is one of the easiest carnivorous plants to grow. It has long, slender leaves with dewy 'hairs' on one side which it uses to trap prey. They produce 12" tall flower scapes filled with showy pink to purple flowers.

You will receive the exact plants in the photos (taken 3/11). They are currently in a 3.5" pot and will be shipped potted.

Drosera Care: Sundews do best in partial shade to full sun. They are well suited for growing on window ledges or outdoors during warm months. They must be watered with non-chlorinated water preferably with a low TDS (between 0 and 25ppm). You can use rain water, RO or distilled. Allow to dry slightly but not completely in between waterings. When watering, place plants in a tray and pour water in tray about 1/2” (referred to as the tray method). Avoid watering the crown of the plant. Temperature should be maintained between 60°F and 85°F. They are not too particular about humidity requirements. If your Drosera has little to no dew, increase light. They generally do well in open terrariums.
