Multiple Drosera adelae 'Giant', Lance Leaf Sundew, live carnivorous plant, potted, WYSIWYG

$40.00

This is a robust, large sundew from Australia! It is the easiest to care for of the "three sisters of Queensland". I have noticed they grow well in a variety of light levels. If kept outdoors in strong light, the leaves are more red in color and slightly thinner. Indoors, such as on a windowsill, the leaves are typically wider and more green. When mature the leaves can grow up to 8" long, unfurling from the center and extending up and out. They produce lovely, red star shaped flowers.  They are excellent at catching small insects like ants, mosquitoes, and gnats. They benefit from higher humidity if grown in warm temperatures (above 75F).

You will receive the exact plant in the photos (taken 9/11). It is currently in a 3.5" pot and will be shipped potted.

Drosera Care: Sundews do best in partial shade to full sun. They are well suited for growing on window ledges or outdoors during warm months. They must be watered with non-chlorinated water preferably with a low TDS (between 0 and 25ppm). You can use rain water, RO or distilled. Allow to dry slightly but not completely in between waterings. When watering, place plants in a tray and pour water in tray about 1/2” (referred to as the tray method). Avoid watering the crown of the plant. Temperature should be maintained between 60°F and 85°F. They are not too particular about humidity requirements. If your Drosera has little to no dew, increase light. They generally do well in open terrariums.

*Never use fertilizers or soils with salts, minerals, or added fertilizers
